The window itself was spotless as usual, but the inhabitants let the cobwebs loop around the iron bars.

To the Oasis patrol, the plant perched on the sill was nothing more than decoration for Providers,

Like me.

To us, this echeveria meant a baby girl had been born in the family, adding another to our clan, ready to fight back.
